Today is the big day for my weigh in at work. My goal loss is 10 pounds and I have been working hard to meet that. According to the Recovery Week, I am supposed to do X Stretch today, however I am trying to burn as much as possible. So, I decided to add Plyometrics in. It was another solid round of Plyo and the heart rate was up. This added diet the last few weeks has been tough, but I am seeing results.

I can not wait to be done with Recovery Week. Day 60 is around the corner and Day 90 is not far beyond that.

I am working my way through recovery week and enjoying it. This Friday I think I am going to breakdown and get the Power Blocks to start the next round. Until then, I have a lot more “Recovering” to do…

Kenpo X is a lot of fun and a great way to relieve stress. The routine is only as tough as you make it. If you want to dog it during the punches and kicks, your heart rate will never get up. However, if you are putting a little something into, you can get a lot of it. I was very happy with my workout today and this evening I am planning on doing a couple mile run with 30 minutes on the exercise bike. Gotta shed as much weight as I can for the weigh in at work tomorrow!

Today’s Core Synergistics is a solid routine. I forgot hard it pushes you. Like all the P90X workouts, I enjoy it.
I didn’t even realize I was beginning my second Recovery Week. I was planning a good resistance workout this morning until I reviewed the fitness guide. It is hard to believe I am in my 8th week of P90X. The time is just flying by. According to the guide, today should be Yoga X. However, Tuesday is my weight in at work and I want to loose as much as possible. So I will be modifying the schedule and doing a Plyo routine instead. Plus I did not have the mind set for 90 minutes of Yoga today.

Stretching it Out

After the 3 workouts I did yesterday, there was no way I was going to miss a solid morning of stretching. I went down the stairs in my house slowly this morning because there was a lot soreness all over. The stretches started off slow, but my body warmed up quickly. It felt great working the hamstrings, back, neck and everywhere in between. X stretch is only 57 minutes and it goes by very quickly. There are little places to do a little extra push up, or engage your core to get an extra burn. I do not have much more to say other that THANK YOU TONY FOR X STRETCH. After the routine I had a bounce in my step because almost all my previous soreness was gone!

Today is my last day of recovery week! It is also the last day of phase 1 in the Nutrition Plan. Now my fat/carb/protein ratio will be 20/40/40 for the next 30 days. Although I will admit during Fat Shredded, I rarely got the 20/30/50 as recommended. That being sad, I was still very happy with my diet and the weight I lost. I am looking forward to getting back into the regular routine and really bringing it!

Recovery Week Continues

Just finished day 3 of recovery week, Kenpo X, and I am wondering when I start recovering…. With the weighted gloves and sneakers, I am sweating like mad and still working as hard as during the normal workouts. This of course is good, because I want to see results and the only way to do that is by shedding the goo. I know I would not be happy with a week of silent meditation mixed with X Stretch. So I will continue to push forward and ensure that I am moving and grooving with every workout.

I enjoy researching things before and while I do them. P90X is no exception. I did a lot of research before starting to ensure I had the proper supplements, food for dieting and all the necessary P90X equipment. As I continue with my P90x journey, I am staying active on a number of online communities focused on P90X, as well as nutrition and dieting. These online communities are a great way to share your story, pickup new tips and interact with fellow P90X’ers. I am also borrowing a lot of books from the library as well. My goal is to learn as much as I can so I make informed decisions and not harm my body with all of these new changes. So far, I am happy with these changes, even if it means a lot more work both physically and mentally.

Going to pound through Recovery Week and upgrade my weights on Friday. Saturday morning will be all about bringing it in round 2.

Recovery Week

I am starting week 4 today which is recovery week. Recovery week is all stretch and cardio workouts with no resistance routines. Unfortunately I was not mentally prepared to do a Yoga routine this morning. It really is surprising the mind set you need for a Yoga X routine. Especially when you are looking forward to good chest and back workout. However, I did make it through and was happy with my progress.

As I continue to work on my flexibility, I do see myself reaching a tiny bit further each time. I am not wrapping my hand around my ankles in hamstring stretches or anything, but there is improvements. I also picked up a yoga book at the library today to do more research on the poses and additional stretching. The moon poses are still very difficult and I did not get a chance to buy a yoga block. Hopefully the block will help with deeper and more solid holds in different moves.

P90X Thus Far

So here I am, week 4 of P90X. I am proud of the hard work I have put in and the progress I have made. If I want to get the results that I want, I need to get more serious about the diet and push myself harder. Yesterday I picked up another round of supplements and got a container of Casine protein to assist with protein synthesis.
